I tried Twitch but it wasn’t giving me the quality I wanted so I switched to Youtube live stream. I can’t get a permalink because every time I start the broadcast it makes a new video but here are the links to my channel if you want to join in to see the game and chat about how it is. A podcast on the subject will be forthcoming. Thanks guys!
Don’t miss it!
The long wait is over guys. We finally get to see FFXV. I’ll be live streaming my first playthrough via twitch at https://www.twitch.tv/akylusnite. Edit: Twitch isn’t working that well for me switched to youtube. Also stay tuned for great videos on YouTube of especially good stuff. Here it is. The intro:
We, as libertarians, need to come together going forward. Too long the movement has been divided by moral ideology. Right-leaning libertarians are against all of the social justice issues e.g. Anti-Hate Speech, Anti-Bigotry, Welfare. Left-leaning libertarians are against the religious/family values e.g. traditional marriage, pro-heterosexuality, lack of concern over hate speech, lack of concern for workers. Both groups are wrong. We need to stop worrying about which moral values we hold as people. I don’t care about your personal morality. Whether you think that homosexuals are going to burn in hell or if you would call a person with that view a bigot, I could not care less. The only important thing is that we all agree on one thing and one thing only, the idea of a libertarian legal code based on property rights, homesteading, and the NAP. This is the core of our ideology and regardless of your view on issues of morality and aesthetics if you believe in these principles, then you are a libertarian. But, I am saying right now unequivocally, if you do not believe in the ideas of property rights, homesteading, and the NAP then you are not a libertarian at least not one that I recognize.
Similarly, we are having a problem coming together on the anarcho-capitalist position (ancap) vs. minarchist position. This needs to stop.
To the minarchists:
Every single ancap libertarian I know or have heard of is fine with a minarchist state vs. the current Unfortunate State of Affairs, so please start spending more time honing and delivering your arguments for the minarchist position to people more statist than yourself i.e. republicans and democrats. We ancaps will be supporting and cheering you on all the way. Or at least I will be.
To the ancaps:
Stop antagonizing the minarchists. Every ancap, worth their salt, should be cheering wholeheartedly for the minarchists as well as helping and supporting their every effort to convince people more statist than both groups. We ancaps have a saying “What’s the difference between a minarchist and an ancap? Six months.” If we believe that the ancap philosophy is the natural progression of a minarchist position, then let’s stop trying quite so hard to get them all the way to our side. Either they will come to see the ideas of anarcho-capitalism as the natural progression of the same logic as the minarchist position or they won’t. Needlessly antagonizing them over it is getting us nowhere.
A healthy debate among libertarian about the virtues of various moral judgments and the minarchist vs. ancap position is good and should be encouraged. Unfortunately, it seems like the debate has become toxic and sectarian. None of the factions are willing to start building a moral and aesthetic judgment-free libertarian movement where we can all participate in moving the brainwashed statist masses closer to liberty. We are at a crossroad in history and presenting a unified libertarian coalition will allow us to make the most of this opportunity. Whatever your moral code or aesthetic preference I’m proud to call every person that shares my belief in the core principles of libertarianism a comrade-in-arms against the evil statist and their poor brainwashed sheep. Everyone is welcome in the new libertarian effort to move the zeitgeist toward liberty. Craft arguments and make creative projects to show statist people how their goals, liberal and conservative, are best served by liberty. Let’s try to cool it on each other and focus more on what we have in common rather than what is different between us. In the end, we all want the same thing, the end of coercion against peaceful people. If we don’t band together then we will have no success against the overwhelming sea of statism and we will have squandered this tremendous opportunity to promote human liberty.
